If they decide to make Kairi playable, they should...

Actually if she is playable I would think that all of that would be a given considering how others were handled in past games tbh.

Yes/No I know people want it, so yes, if you can go through the story without playing her.

I know fanboys and fangirls hate me for it, but I am just giving my personal opinion.

I think perfect starting stats for Kairi would be Sora's starting stats in KH1. Sounds good enough forba beginner for me. That or she could be like Aqua's stats. That'd be a rough start, as Aqua was a rough start for me, her only highest stat being magic, so I had to grind a bit for her to do quite some damage in strength.

I agree with everything you said! Just give her more than a tutorial try out and then I'll be satisfied. I've wanted Kairi to be a playable character since I saw her use her Keyblade in KH2.

Aqua was great for me since she is stronger than Ventus and faster than Terra. I had problems with Ventus at first because of the damage he doesn't do...

indeed.

but not even close to aqua and riku, and sora of course

Agreed agreed agreed! This would be so awesome!

Maybe give her a moveset like Aqua, but a slow starting point. I agree, it would be weird to see Kairi go from her fighting style in KHII to Aqua at the end of Birth by Sleep in a short while. It should be a slow build. That is, if she is even playable.

For me, Ventus was simple and easy, holding a play style similar to Sora. Terra was crap...I hated every bit of gameplay for him. Aqua was tough, but amazingly done. I really enjoyed my Aqua playthroughs the most.

Fool. I believe that by the time KH3 starts, Kairi will have had a lot of training. KH3 shouldn't start right after 3D's. But instead in to the not so distant future. Like a year or something. That way Kairi and Axel can get a grasp for a keyblade. Being total noobs, they shouldn't be playable. But somewhat experienced? That makes more sense.

I'd love to see something like that. Well first, I'd like to see her playable. THEN I'd like to see if she has a special unique style of gameplay. Still, it sounds like an interesting gameplay growth system for Kairi.

Well it would make sense for her to be underpowered at first since she just got the ability to wield a keyblade, then have her become powerful in her own way.

Yes I even hope Kairi gets her own game taking  place after KHIII were she gets her on Mark of Mastery, and travel to other worlds.

I wonder, if when Kairi's playable, if she will have access to special magic since she's a princess of heart.

Maybe they'll make Light based spells for her.

I agree. Especially because the quest she undergoes to be on par with the rest of the team practically writes itself as part of her character development. She wants to be part of the A-team, but she's obviously behind, and she has to try and make up the slack, not only physically, but emotionally. The quest is to prove that she has the right to be here, and I want to see that develop over the course of the game.

I doubt it'll take a year after KH3D. I think maybe a month or so, since Xehanort wouldnt wait A WHOLE NOTHER YEAR to start the X-blade war after waiting 11 years to be brought back so his plan could come to fruition.

This^

I agree with Juma, that would be the perfect set up for her at the start. But i think a little hop would be too underpowered, maybe just a dash like Terra but a small dash, then later she gets Cartwheel like Aqua.

I'm conflicted.  The problem is that Kairi was written into an awkward position, and no matter what she does, it's going to be hard for her to win.

I agree that if Kairi is playable, that she should start off with poor stats.  Makes sense since she's a novice.  The problem I have with her getting an accelerated stat growth afterwards--which supposedly would mimic her in-story development in strength--would be it's too, well, accelerated.  Sora and Riku got how many games to themselves showing their development.  Kairi would get one game, and if we saw her progression all at once, it'd become way too fast.  Unless they're really smart about it--which I'm not optimistic about considering how they handled her before--her growth would feel too rushed, awkward, possibly with cries of Mary Sue.

On the other hand, if they did make her growth more reasonable, then she'd be in too similar a position to where she was in the series until now: behind everyone.  Sure, she'd be on the front lines, but it won't do much good if she's still lagging behind the others.  Unless her being in the front lines allows her to develop some kind of power and/or emotional understanding that will greatly serve the others, hopefully in ways the others can't do (like something to do with being a Princess of Heart), she wouldn't be significantly better off.  The haters will still bitch about her being useless compared to the others, and she might just feel too underwhelming.

I really hope they're smart about handling Kairi.  It's not so much that I like her so much as I want the haters to stop being annoying.

If kairi was a playable character she needs new clothes! kairi's clothes are up to her thighs her panties might show up xD

lol I think they're going to stick to tradition and create new clothes for almost everyone. Kairi's definitely going to get a new "battle" outfit. Probably from Yen Sid.

And if that outfit is somehow more revealing than her prior outfits (and is still approved by disney), what do we call Yen Sid?I have to say that Kairi probably will be similar to a white mage, but the thing is you don't need her to become too proficient in either white magic or keyblade weilding. For, if she is super good at magic, she might seem too powerful, and you would expect her to at least improve her fighting a bit. So probably above average white magic mixed in with passable keyblade weilding.

Kairi would be perfect for the tutorial of KH3.

Yes. I agree. Aqua is perfect in every way.
