I am actually quite desperate to know what happens next.

I'll give it to you, they pretty solidly set up KH3. That was always my biggest peeve about people griping for KH3 since the release of KH2; as a standalone game, KH2 is pretty complete. There's some teases as to what's coming, but there's no cliffhanger.

 

3D, on the other hand, laughed in your face that there was more to come.

I ahd a dream! I dreamt that Nomura would release KHIII AND KHIV together for the long wait we had to put up with. Then I woke up and took my medicine.

I honestly thought it was going to be: 

 

It was more like: phewwww (because young xehanort was hard to beat imo)

It left me concerned that future KH games might be like DDD

I was confused and thought it was stupid. Then I played every other game in the series.

I've tasted Flowmotion, and I want more

Oh God, I swear, when I saw that final cutscene where Xehanort was revived and he revealed his play by play on how to get Kingdom Hearts, I fanboyed like never before, and seeing the true Organization made me go: "Oh my God, shit's getting real!"  Yeah...KH3D really did a good job of hyping us up for Kingdom Hearts III. KH3D, along with BBS and KHII, is my favorite game in the series.  I can't wait to see how things will play out in the final showdown!  I need MOOOOARRR!!!!

It beats Nomura throwing in more to the story and having way too much on his plate by the time KHIII comes around.

 

Playing the Final Mixes is pretty nice though, even though I personally think the original KHI is better than its own Final Mix.
