They ruined Kingdom Hearts II and Birth By Sleep!

Posted

I can't believe it!

They changed some of the character's voices! Expecially Roxas! His battle qutoes were all removed and replaced with Ventus's ones! Maleficent's dialogue is censored and so as other things!

Seriously? Kingdom Hearts ISN'T for kids! The majority of fans and players are above 12 already!

Controls got worse, too.

Some of the soundtrack doesn't feel the same.

The graphics got too colorful.

What's the point of playing a "better" version if its crappy? I can play FM in my PS2 just fine.

Those were already ruined when Dream Drop Distance retconned them into being part of "The Xehanort Show, starring Master Xehanort as Baldke Aizen!"

Seriously? And here I thought I was going to see something that actually mattered. I got upset when they messed up Ven's first Station of Awakening, but that was an aesthetic mistake. This stuff you're complaining about, it doesn't nearly impact the game as much as that. My advice: get over it and remember the other moments as they were, but don't let something so minor ruin a much improved upon experience for you. I'm even willing to look past the Station of Awakening mistake just for the sake of a polished up and better looking AND sounding game.

Sadly I kinda agree with you but this is more for BBS where it feels a lot more floaty. Also curious what Maleficent dialogue was censored?

Which region are you from?I've played my North American version past that point, and she still keeps her powers of hell line.

I don't remember seeing any female being choked?

Aqua? Terranort? Yeah.....

Thank god. Did they re-censor Xigbar's guns, Port Royal, and/or Axel's "death"?

What was the mistake they made in the Station of Awakening with Ven?

You know how Ven's Station of Awakening in the beginning of BbS is different than how it is at the end? Well, basically they replaced it with the one that he has at the end. It might not seem like much of an issue at first glance, but if you keep in mind the symbolic importance it represents, it's both a huge retcon AND spoiler. The fact that he has all of his armor on him, that he's holding his Keyblade, and that he has the Wayfinders on the pillar is supposed to symbolize how whole he is by the end of the game, but here they just shove it into the beginning before he even got all of that (save for the Keyblade, which he always had with him, just not on the first pillar). It kind of feels like a slap in the face to all of that character development and it doesn't make much sense from a chronological standpoint, as a Station of Awakening is supposed to represent the person's heart based upon their past and present experiences and personality, thus why Sora's Station looked different when he was young as apposed to how it looks when he's older. The fact that it was different at the end made the design of Ven's Station all the more special, but now it's just kind of haphazardly pasted onto the beginning sequence, taking away a lot of that symbolic value.

Not too sure honestly :/ I haven't made it to KH2 yet

Wooooooow that seems to be really stupid. Especially for fans who have played the PSP version of BBS. It seems SE really screwed some things up with this HD collection.

This reply is not to your comment, nor does it have any business being on this topic. But I just had to say that your signature is hilarious

I wouldn't call it a "screw up". There are far worse things that could have happened. It still looks like a pretty good game, just with a few hiccups here or there. Maybe they'll patch it some day or if they do do a PS4 version they'll touch up those problems.

Lol a patch? From Square? Lol that's funny because they never patch their games (which they should do like Nintendo does with their games).

LOL!!! I don't see the problem. I'm just enjoying this game because I'm a die hard Kingdom Hearts fan. Don't care about the censors or whatever I'm just glad that I'm finally playing the final mix versions because it's unfair that Japan gets to play it while North America doesn't get to play it.

The only thing that really bothered me is the drive and screen loading times.

Okay, yeah, adding Ven's battle quotes to Roxas is a little strange, but you only play him at the beginning. (Unless his boss fights also include Ven's quotes.)

Also, I skipped the opening in KHII. Does it still say "scatt red dream"? Lol.

My biggest problems are the load times. I've heard bad things about the Drives, and I have experienced the D-Link, Command Style,  and even the use of new Commands as being slow and having to load a lot off of the disc. Hasn't been too bad, but still annoying for a PS3 game XDEdit: Totally just saw your comment. As you can see, I totally agree

My only problem is the delay in the combat system in KH2FM, I thought something was really wrong with that. It gets annoying especially while running and turning like I used to do in the game.

Other than that, the rest of the stuff aren't really that big of a deal.

Osaka team is lazy. They did mess some shit up (especially in the English version). In the ENG version loading times are slower, random freezes, bad translations, seem to be more crashes too. They were SOOO lazy that they put Ven voices on Roxas in-battle. There is no way that was intentional .

Osaka also made 1.5 and that has loads of problems.

I'm not having any problems with these games aside from the drive form load times.

None of this was a result of "laziness." Both versions have the slowness, and that's because of how much data is on the disk, not the developers fault.

And yeah, pretty sure Ven's voice WAS intentional. It would have been the same as before if it wasn't.

Just don't call a developer lazy for oversights when there aren't that many or things they can't control.
