Do you celebrate Easter?

Not really

No, I'm not religious and neither is my family. Of course I eat chocolate and stuff, but I don't really celebrate it.

Personally, I used to celebrate it with my family before the move, now we never do.

My mother does, but I'm not very religious. I'm more into the "Easter is about hope and new life" bit than going to church. 

Only because my family does.

Since I'm not religious, nor a kid aiming to hunt some boiled eggs painted pretty colors, I honestly have no idea how to go about celebrating Easter anymore. It's one of those holidays that I would forget about if not for stores reminding you it'll be closed that day. My only plain is to consume sugary nourishment from chocolatey bunnies... or their eggs.

 

When we were into religion, yeah. But now we just get each other Chocolate and have a big Dinner. we use Easter as an excuse lol. We havent been to church in years though.

I'm not religious, and don't really like chocolate either.  These sorts of holidays just make me think (not angrily, I just think of it when they come up) of how the Catholic Church asserted their dominance by overshadowing already existing Pagan holidays.  Sure Paganism is evil in their eyes but that won't stop them stealing their holiday and making it their own.  

 

Also who made it a thing where you can't buy alcohol in offys on Easter Sunday?  That's just prioritising one faith over those with others or no faith.  

 

I just like Sunday dinner.

I don't celebrate it as a religious sort of thing, more as a family holiday. We color eggs (I actually really like coloring eggs, kinda like how I like to carve Pumpkins on Halloween), eat a nice dinner, and get tons of chocolate (which is always a good thing, imo).

The Catholic Church went to the world preaching the gospel. They couldn't just impose it on everyone and expect compliance. They used the pagan holidays to bring nations and peoples into the fold.Also, so you can't buy alcohol on Easter Sunday, what's the big deal? If I invited you to my place on a Friday during Lent, you want to have meat and I tell you that my faith doesn't allow me to have meat on Friday during Lent but I am making a pasta dish, does that mean I am imposing my belief on you? No I am not. First, I am the host of my home and I can serve what I please. Second, I am entitled to my religious beliefs and will not go against my conscience just because you have no belief or are lukewarm about it. If the owner of the office finds it against their religious beliefs to bring alcohol on Easter Sunday, why trouble them to disobey their conscience and faith? You can get your booze any other time of the day. Just because you can't have in the office doesn't mean that you can't have it anywhere. Besides, there are better things for your money to be put in use. Maybe the Salvation Army, or the American Cancer Society. How about your money goes to relief services to the poor?

When I was younger my family was very religious about it, but now not so much. But it's still an important day for my family to be together.

This kind of poll is a little scary because of the religious arguments that may or may not happen. Anyway, I'm not religious at all, but I do enjoy chocolate. 

I am not very religious at all and so is my family. So not really. 

Yes! While maybe not the most fun holiday to decorate for, it is my favorite solely because of the spiritual aspect of it.

^This! I was trying to think of a good reply to Caity's non-angry comment and you already did. The Church wanted to attract attention to certain holidays, so they put them "along side" already popular pagan holidays. I can't speak for every Catholic back then, but the initial intent was not to take over. It's just one of those things that kinda... happened :/I never got why either side cared about the Sunday alcohol thing. Just because you don't want alcohol on Sundays doesn't mean you should force others to abstain others as well. On the other hand, just because you want to drink on Sundays doesn't mean you should force others to sell it to you against their religious beliefs.

 

To bring this back around: I first got Kingdom Hearts II as an Easter present, so yea!!!

It's an important ritual.  Decorating eggs, hiding them, having egg-shaped sweets and keeping family close will keep you safe in these dangerous times.  If the ritual isn't complete and the Easter bunny is not placated, there is nothing to stop him from going on a homicidal rampage.

I guess I do,went to church and whatnot for the past few days as well.So yeah I'm religious.

Muslim guy over here so, evidently, no I don't celebrate it.

My family and I aren't that religious in the fact that we don't go to church, but we do have a strong faith in God, as He is ever present in our household, so of course Easter is important!

I'm not religious, so Easter is more of a family obligation for me.  I haven't even been to Easter dinner since 2012 due to school.  Although it did used to be our holiday to host.

I and my whole family do. Easter is more than just chocolate. We celebrate it for the act of redemption Jesus gave to mankind so many years ago.
