I been hearing that Donald is the useless partner in Kingdom Hearts. But he's isn't useless. Donald might be the most useful character in Kingdom Hearts. He helped me by taking down two of Sephiroth health bars in KH2. He even healed Sora health at times where I couldn't use cure. (During Lingering Will battle.) So, I don't know how Donald is useless to you. I find him very useful. (So useful that I hack my game to have two Donalds.) Maybe you're not using him properly.

(Here's Donald true potential if you use him correctly.)

He wastes all your Elixirs on Goofy who is at full HP while you're dying.

They die so easily tho :I. Its like their defense is 0 at lvl 99

and he died really really fast in 2.5 its almost like they forgot to put in a def. stat

Heres hoping kh3 would make donald abit more useful with some exclusive advance magic only for him

I think people focus so much on customising Sora that they forget that there are two other characters that can be made stronger.

Anyway , even if you do customise how often they use their abilities and potions , they  still waste everything at the smallest chance they get .

He is useless because he dies in one hit during boss fights and he wastes your items on Goofy.

But, he can sometimes be really useful. After all, it's thanks to him that I defeated Lingering Will.

While playing Critical Mode with Level 1, Donald (and Goofy) started to feel extremely important.

I always keep Donald in the party and throws Goofy under the bus to make way for other tag-along characters. Donald heals me, I love that duck. Definitely not useless.

I really want to see someone hack the game where the 4 Donald's all scream "I GOT IT" and die simultaneously .

Donald's only useful thing from KHII onwards is his healing magic. However, in Chain of Memories, he's magic is very powerfull (not so much in Re: Chain of Memories), but he can heal elemental enemies and in KH1, Donald heals you, stops enemies, gives you wind defence and has got quite good ofensive spells.

I hacked the fight so I can allow Donald to aid me.

Honestly I thought Goofy was more useless than Donald, I mean let's not forget when Sora heals him he says "Thanks Donald!"

The only usefulness I had from Donald was the trinity marks in KHI

Donald has his uses. The special limits with him in KH2 are pretty good. and of course, he heals you. 

The problem is KH2 doesn't give Donald Once More and Second Chance, like it does Goofy (and I think he only gets Hyper Healing from an item?). So while Donald may have useful abilities, at higher tiers of battle he just dies immediately so there's not much he can do.

I don't even give Donald items...I'm the distributor of healing items in the group. I give them what they need.

I think people just don't use Donald right, as pretentious as that sounds. Fantasia is a fantastic Limit in KH2, and so long as you toggle what balance of spells you want him to use in the menu, he'll usually do what you need him to.
