Posted December 4, 20159 yr just like the title says, what video games do you think are overrated. Please try to not argue over other people's opinions on what they think is overrated. it really leads nowhere. now, let's begin I think that A Link to the past and Tales of Graces f and COD (as a whole) are overrated. December 4, 20159 yr Basically the Lightning saga in the Final Fantasy series and SMG. Both games were trash and overpraised by video game reviewers.
December 4, 20159 yr Final Fantasy VII. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game, one of my favorites. I'm super excited for the remake! But... I feel like, it gets too much attention, and distracts people from other games in the series. I also feel like, because of the attention it gets, Square Enix doesn't move forward. They're constantly looking back at Cloud for inspiration. I feel like half the reason it's so popular is because 8 didn't do as well, so people automatically say that all games after we're crap.
December 4, 20159 yr Final Fantasy X The Witcher Grand Theft Auto Final Fantasy 13, 13-2, Lightning Returns Call of Duty Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess These are my personal, ignorable, opinions. I just think these games are just hype, and not as good as people say they are.
December 4, 20159 yr I feel that Dragon Quest 8 is completely overrated. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but it recieves way too much attention. I mean, it's getting a 3D remake when it was already in 3D. That and Harvest Moon 3D.
December 4, 20159 yr Final Fantasy 13, 13-2, Lightning Returns Say what? Isn't the game disliked/hated by a lot of FF fans?
December 4, 20159 yr Say what? Isn't the game disliked/hated by a lot of FF fans? I don't know. I'm not going to fight on what I said: If you don't agree with my opinion, please ignore it.
December 4, 20159 yr Hmm, overrated . . . . I'd probably have to say that Final Fantasy VII and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World are overrated. While I loved Final Fantasy VII, it just receives too much hype and isn't the greatest Final Fantasy in my opinion. There are others, but those two are the first that come to mind.
December 4, 20159 yr Pokemon, Smash Bros, Nintendo in general, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Uncharted, so on and so forth, but who actually cares? Either you like the game or you don't and if you want to support a game that you like then you should have the freedom to.
December 4, 20159 yr I have never found a game to be overrated as I have pretty much agreed with most opinions once I try a game out (say what you will about COD, it at least has some very fine-tuned gameplay). I think a bigger issue is overhating a game. Just because a person doesn't like a game they go an extra three miles to tear it down, as opposed to people who love a game who mostly just talk it up a bit more than it may be. I encountered this issue with FF XIII. I was looking into the game and all I could find were masses of hateful messages about it. Once I picked it up to form my own opinion, I found it very enjoyable and anything negative about it had been greatly over exaggerated. So overall, I would say there are very few overrated games, and a plentiful amount of overhated games.
December 4, 20159 yr Mgs 5. The graphic is surely awesome but the gameplay is kinda.. repetitive and it makes me easily bored.
December 4, 20159 yr Grand Theft Auto and Metal Gear Solid are the most overrated and overhyped series. They are just boring. Edited December 4, 20159 yr by Komali
December 4, 20159 yr How can diverse games be overrated? Haha.Anything can be overrated. Also diversity isn't always a good thing. There is a diversity of deadly poisonous spiders that can do significant damage to people all over our diverse world. Not preferable.Similarly in gaming, if a game is too diverse, there are concequences that are negative to the experience. In example, a diverse number of enemies thst can all inflict severe poison status and do so often. You have a lizard, a monkey, a wolf, rats, spiders, big cats, and more. Diversity is nice but must be controlled so it doesn't run rampant. Even Skyrim has its limitations so that the game does not become too overwhelming or confusing. Some games lack this control and as a result, may be very fun, but very flawed.
December 5, 20159 yr CoD games and the FNAF series...I know folk play the FNAF games for the lore (and I'm interested in the lore as well), but still lol
December 5, 20159 yr Anything made by Bethesda, Rockstar, Valve, or Naughty Dog. It's just one big circlejerk for those devs, lets be real. Also, Ocarina of Time.
December 5, 20159 yr Fallout (3 and 4), Bloodborne, Mass Effect, Half Life and pretty much every sports game.
December 5, 20159 yr Author Hmm, overrated . . . I don't see how Dawn of a New world is overrated. It got a good amount of hate when it came out.
December 5, 20159 yr Halo games. shot once Smash Bros games shot twice Call of Duty games shot thrice Life is Strange Dead. Let's not get started on games that began as somewhat enjoyable indie games, but were soon overdone, and pumped out faster than Easter chickens! (Looking at you, FNAF.)
December 5, 20159 yr That would be too big of a list to describe, so I'll pick some highlights of overrated games (in my opinion). Minecraft, Call of Duty (series), Five Nights at Freddy's, BattleField, and maaaybe Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. And I'm getting kinda questionable with Pokemon with all these spin-offs they're making. As many others have stated before me, this is merely opinionated. (Plus, since I don't have any proof backing up my opinions about these games, you can still like them AND you won't have to counteract my opinion. Neat eh?) Please don't kill Rock on!
December 5, 20159 yr I dislike Five Nights at Freddies immensely. It started as a cool, unique indie game that became an overhyped, repetitive series that was overblown by the fandom, with a story that never really seemed to go anywhere, and seemed to almost go back on itself, with ridiculously stupid ways to actually learn anything about the plot.
