Sir. Christopher Lee (Ansem the Wise's original voice actor) passes away, aged 93

Sir. Christopher Lee, Ansem the Wise's voice actor in Kingdom Hearts II has sadly passed away today, aged 93.

Sir. Christopher Lee was born on May 27, 1922 in Belgravia, London, England, United Kingdom. He was an actor, singer and author. He was most well known for his roles as Count Dracula in a string of popular Hammer Horror films, Saruman in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and The Hobbit film trilogy, and Count Dooku in the final two films of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

After he voiced Ansem the Wise/DiZ in Kingdom Hearts II, Corey Burton took over. Corey Burton is known as the audio double for Christopher Lee and took over for him in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Count Dooku after its feature length film and did so again for Kingdom Hearts having voiced Ansem the Wise/Diz in all titles following Kingdom Hearts II.

The world has sadly lost a legend. R.I.P Sir. Christopher Lee, you will be missed greatly by all.

OOOOOHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO! ;(

this is sad, but this puts something in perspective........KH3 is taking so long all of the actors are passing way so at this rate we won't have the feel of the characters they play, like with mickey but after a while he go a lot better but they won't have time for that for kh3.

Sad, sad, sad! He was one of my favorite actors! How unfortunate it is to lost yet another legend! Loved him as Count Dracula, Ansem the Wise, Count Dooku, Saruman, and countless others. And his voice was one of a kind, too...

May he rest in peace, but may his legacy live on...

as well as his metal music.

WHAT?!  D:

Omg.....it seems like just yesterday, I was discussing with someone about how great of an actor he was.... ;_; Man......why are all the legends leaving us this year? .

I think we were the one having the conversation, actually.  Was it in regards to his birthday and his amazing productions?  Either way, wow.  I'm saddened and surprised to hear this, especially since he just had a birthday that we were discussing.

This is very tragic.  Christopher Lee was a very well accomplished actor and I think most people would recognize him by his voice alone.  It is sad that I am finally at an age where I am starting to see actors that I grew up with start to go.  Many prayers for his family.

Daaaaamn. Hollywood has had it hard this year. Two outstanding icons have departed this world. :( Honestly, I'm more of a fan of Christopher than I am of Leonard. I'm truly saddened that one of the greatest has left us. R.I.P, : </3

It disappoints me to see that with every one of these celebrity deaths, half of the responses to these threads are "OH NO THIS IS GOING TO AFFECT KINGDOM HEARTS III BADLY WHO WILL VOICE ____ NOW?!"

Someone's life is much more important than who voices who in a video game, of all things. When a voice actor passes away, the effects on their works shouldn't be anywhere near the highest priority to think about.

Rest in peace, Christopher Lee. I'll admit I didn't really have much of a childhood with the other recent actors who passed away, but having been raised as a Star Wars fan, this one hits pretty close to home. He might have been a Sith Lord, but he was a great actor, and while I can't say I know anything about his personal life, I wish the best for his family and friends while they recover.

Hey guys,

This is Songbird Rebel here...

It has been almost a day since I have learn of the devastating loss of Christopher Lee. I was personally distraught by this due to how the demise have given the same "hit-home" reaction that Robin Williams, Leonard Nimoy, and Monty Oum had with theirs. He was knighted for services to drama and charity in 2009, and have served in the Winter War, the Second World War, The North African Campaign, The Allied invasion of Italy, and the Battle of Monte Cassino. With a career spanning nearly 70 years, Lee have became well-known as an actor for his deep strong voice, and he was also known for his singing ability due to his training in classical singing, along with being fluent in German, French, Italian and Spanish and speaking a fair amount of Swedish, Russian and Greek. He died at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on 7 June 2015 at 8:30 AM after being admitted for respiratory problems and heart failure, shortly after celebrating his 93rd birthday there. His wife delayed the public announcement until 11 June in order to break the news to their family. My sincerest condolence goes to his family and friends.  As an actor, Lee initially portrayed villains. But on some exceptions, he have portrayed non-villians such as Ansem the Wise/DiZ in Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days. The link to all of Lee's roles and masterpieces can be found below:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Lee_filmography

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and fans alike.
Farewell, Ansem the Wise. Requiescat in pace.

The veteran actor Sir Christopher Lee has died aged 93 after being hospitalized with respiratory problems, The Associated Press and Reuters reported Thursday.

In a film career spanning seven decades, his iconic roles included the wizard Saruman in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, the Jedi master Count Dooku in "Star Wars," and the Bond villain, Francisco Scaramanga, in 1974's "The Man With the Golden Gun," as well as voicing Ansem in the Kingdom Hearts series.

He starred as Count Dracula in 10 different movies, and gained cult-hero status for his roles in the Hammer horror series and the 1973 British cult film "The Wicker Man," which was remade in 2006 starring Nicolas Cage.

He died on Sunday at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London but his death was not announced until Thursday.

An official for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London on Thursday told The Associated Press a death certificate was issued for Lee on June 8.

Lee also enjoyed a long music career that culminated in 2013 on his 91st birthday with him releasing a heavy metal concept album entitled "Charlemagne: The Omens of Death."
