I know a lot of people hate Spirit Tracks because it is more linear than Phantom Hourglass and because of its graphics. I know Spirit Tracks graphics aren't really good, but I loved its story, gameplay and exportation. I loved it when I was able to look around the overworld when I'm on the train by using the stylus. The game might look crappy, but it's beautiful in the inside in my opinion.
WakingDawn96 repliedI never actually got a real chance to play it, but I love the Smash Bros stage for it on the 3DS. So I think it deserves a little love for making a good stage for Smash.

I don't care if zelda u is linear or nonlinear I know I'm going to like the game.

In zelda u, I hope Link has a partner that doesn't literally show you where you need to go. I want a partner that gives out hints when you need help with a puzzle or shows you something in the open world that you overlooked.

There is a rumor that is spreading on miiverse stating that Majora's Mask 3d and the "new" 3ds is coming out on the 13th of this month. I'm not going to believe this until nintendo confirms this leak at the nintendo direct tomorrow

Exiblade7 posted a status update
There is a possiblity that they MIGHT reveal zelda u's official title at the nintendo direct tomorrow, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that because this nintendo direct is for games that are coming out in the spring and zelda u isn't one of those games.
lostmemory123 repliedWell I think a better reason would be because they would like to save their big cards for E3
Shulk repliedThey're just focusing on Spring 2015. It's possible they'll mention something coming later (They've done so in the past), but I doubt Zelda would be that game. I'd guess Star Fox, Animal Crossing, or Metroid if they plan on showing a big release early.

What is with people nowadays? I mean, people are saying that people who don't really look forward to or not sure if they are not going to like a game or not because of innovation in video games. They call those people "fans". That is bullshit because they themselves might like the game when it comes out and that there is NO such thing as a freaking true fan. Everybody's a true fan for all I know. People should STOP saying that people are not true fans of the series JUST becaus...
Exiblade7 replied*JUST because they are not sure if they will not like the innovative gameplay or not.

I'm sure some of the people who like the zelda games for its story will like zelda u, even though it won't be the main focus for the game like previous zelda games shown. i'm fine with open world zelda games as long as the overworld has plenty of things for you to do and has a story(which most open world games in general do).
WakingDawn96 repliedNow that I figured out InFamous 2 is considered open world, I can't wait for Zelda U! I hope it's a real great game!
Xiro repliedJust because it's open world doesn't necessarily mean story's going to be put in the back seat.
(Unless the peeps at Nintendo said something about that and I just haven't heard it.)

Some people in my school thought that Link was Zelda until I told them the truth. Idiots .
Exiblade7 repliedI just get tired of people saying that Link is Zelda. They need to get their facts straight before saying anything about the legend of zelda. I wouldn't say Pit is Kid Icarus because I barely knew anything about the series.
Forever repliedIt's easy for someone who isn't a fan to assume that's his name. The game is named after the Princess, yet it's Link who always poses on the front cover. Simple misunderstanding.

You guys, open worlds can be too opened like how linear games can be too linear.
Isaix repliedFinal Fantasy XIV is a good exemple actually.I couldn't get into it because there's so thing to do right at the beginning of the game and there's barely any story in the game from what I played.I like open worlds, but I need a goal.
Shana09 repliedFFXIV confused me right in the beginning. Also long cutscenes are not needed in an MMO, takes way too much time.

I agree with the following person who posted this on miiverse: "There should be at least some kind of common theme or hints. Zelda I just threw you into a world, gave you a sword and that's it. There weren't even visual hints or tips by NPCs to tell you what bush to burn etc. This kind of open world goes way too far. Personally, I think Zelda U will be a great mix of the exploration of 2D Zelda and the emphasis on story of the 3D parts."

I try to detract from worrying about zelda u by going into other gaming series. I think it is working, but my hype for zelda u seems to overpower it sometimes.
Cricket repliedI know that feeling as well. I try to play other games to distract me from thinking about Kingdom Hearts 3, Persona 5, and other games, but idk. I'm just not satisfied enough till those are out. The hype is too strong.

I don't think the zelda formula exists.
Exiblade7 repliedI think the zelda formal is just a pattern that was noticed by fans. I never hear Aonuma talk about it, therefore it doesn't exist.
Kyouma-Blade repliedI don't follow the Zelda fandom, but I do know that a formula is made when a pattern is formed. He could be just doing it unintentionally.
Exiblade7 repliedyes, he might be doing it unintentionally, but the wind waker is basically a semi-open world while Skyward Sword is very linear. I think he was going back and forth between linearity and non-linearity.
