Hey News Team! Larxene is allegedly returning for KHIII. https://www.khinsider.com/news/Shanelle-Gray-Confirms-Her-Involvement-in-Kingdom-Hearts-3-11846
PrinceNoctis replied2 quid, you do the honors. The news team is going to delete it when they pick up on the news anyway.
PrinceNoctis replied2 quid, you do the honors. The news team is going to delete it when they pick up on the news anyway.
KeybladeMasterBalo repliedI was wondering why nobody had brought this up yet! I saw it and since no one reported it thought it might be fake. Larxene is one of the baddest and most irritating villains in the KH Universe so I am sure I will hate her again! But love her at the same time! :V
PrinceNoctis repliedIt won’t don’t worry lol. I just got my Utada album thread deleted two days ago that’s why I don’t feel like it hahaha
WakelessDream repliedIf you're having issues with deletions it's best to contact me or one of the other mods. It didn't make sense to keep two topics about the same piece of info and if I combined it with the news thread I would have to change your post to match the article on the front page, hence why I deleted instead of combined, if your post had comments on it I would have combined it with the news thread.
WakelessDream repliedThe news team has been well aware of this regarding Larxene's VA even before this status was made, they want to verify it first with *official confirmation* before just jumping the gun and reporting on it.
PrinceNoctis repliedI'm not having any issues with it, I'm just saying there's no point in taking time to write a thread that I know is going to be deleted eventually. I leave the reporting to you guys that's all I'm saying.
WakelessDream repliedWe appreciate you sharing nevertheless, and we know you're trying to be helpful, it's up to you guys on whether you want to make a thread about it or not, but just know there is a high likelihood that it'll either get merged or deleted if it has to do with news. Also I was speaking of talking to us about deletions in general not just with news threads.

I just read an article that said Nintendo’s profits rose by (yes this is the actually number) 505% all because of the Switch. Clearly they created a gold nugget and struck gold at the same time.
Clouded Sun repliedThere's also the fact that the Wii U wasn't going so hot other than Smash and MK8, and the 3DS was on its last legs after Mario Maker...

KH3 Facebook page is teasing us?
KingdomHearts3 repliedNo. It doesn’t look like a tease to me. I wouldn’t read too much into it since there does not appear much there.
Merilly repliedI wouldn't be concerned. I think soon is a term signifying a closer release, albeit vague, than for example "Now in Development". Considering that they just recently invited people to try the game and the meeting is supposedly this month, I would say they're on track and aren't experiencing any major problems with development. Not to mention that it's "just" FB.

Pokemon fans: Hurrr Pokemon has been the same each game we want a true rpg(whatever that means). Also Pokemon fans:We want a Kanto remake(which is the exact same thing from 22 years ago even tho Kanto was visited for FOUR GENERATIONS IN A ROW)
Dio Brando repliedSame here, but the genwunners are so loud which makes me worried.
Like ok I won't mind if it's like Gen 2 where Kanto is post game.....but I don't want Gen 8 to just center around Kanto
Isaix repliedA remake of Gen 1 again would be disappointing,I've played Pokemon Yellow,Crystal,Fire Red AND Soul Silver so I've seen it to death and the last time I played Pokemon was Gen 4,so I'd rather see something new and exciting after all those years,a gen 1 remake would be underwhelming. If thet want to includ Kanto as a post game area however I wouldn't mind.
Dio Brando replied@2 quid
They seem small yes but they're backed by the casual crowd who probably only ever remember Gen 1 hence why you see GameFreak pandering to them a lot like how Alolan Forms in Gen 7 are exclusive to Pokemon from the Kanto pokedex. They're actively ruining Pokemon for everybody by giving GameFreak the wrong message that "everyone" seems to only want gen 1
Merilly repliedAdmittedly, the games have been the same over and over again and the lack of story don't make them more appealing. However, the true RPG comment is stupid. It has always been an RPG, but the main games now fail to be interesting by recycling the same old formula. I don't know if Nintendo prevents them from incorporating more story since the potential is there but a remake won't solve this.
Dio Brando repliedI heavily disagree with your comment cuz it's like saying that Final Fantasy VII is the same game as FF1 on NES,the appeal of Pokemon, beside lore stuff if you bothered to play the series beyond Red and Blue, was the gameplay, exploration and the multiplayer aspect.I don't want this to come off as if I'm an elitist but please do a little research on the series before commenting
Dio Brando repliedThe series actually changed a lot since the original games.Sure the basic structure of the story is similar but other things are vastly different as every generation introduced something new to distinguish it from the one before.
Merilly repliedI played every single game ever since the original. This has nothing to do with me not doing research but simply being disappointed with the direction these games are going. The gameplay has barely changed in the past 20 years with just a few changes made here and there but essentially, it's stillt he same. The game is ideal for people who want to play a competitive game against other players, no questions asked. But apart from that
Merilly repliedexploration isn't present. If you like the games, that's great for you and it's just my subjective opinion, but almost every spin-off contained a more substantial plot than the main games and that is an issue for me because I hate that a majority of the game is spent going from one gym/trial to the next with a few encounters with the antagonists here and there but that's virtually it. Heavy topics such as child abuse are extremely terribly conveyed
Merilly repliedin Sun/Moon and that bothers me,quite frankly. It's not even that they don't have the potential, they clearly do,but something stops them from utilizing it and thus making the main games shallow under the pretense of wanting to remain kid-friendly and never going beyond the all audiences tag. It's just my opinion but it has nothing to do with lack of research. I've grown up with this series for nearly 20 years now and I'm just disappointed.
Merilly repliedPokemon works with the formula "never change a running system" and if it sells and people are content with that, it's fine. But looking at how much it developed in comparison to other series is despondent, it is not fine with me anymore. Please don't accuse other people of not doing their research just because they're dissatisfied with the progression of the franchise. I'm just not interested in the competitive aspect and the plots failed to reel me in.
Merilly repliedIt's fine. I apologize as well. My dry responses often cause misunderstandings. It really wasn't meant as an attack on you or the people liking the franchise or even the main games themselves. It's just that my interest shifted more toward plot-based games over the years and Pokemon rather maintained a direction based on connection and competition. Which is totally fine but also disappointing because I feel a lot of potential from the plot going to waste.
Merilly repliedI'm still rather emotional when the franchise is concerned and can't just let it go because it's part of my life and has been for a majority of it. That's why I believe it would be nice to develop the plot a little more in a future title for those who'd like that. They don't even have to change the system itself. It should still be Pokemon after all. But Mystery Dungeon managed a capivating plot as well and I'd like the main series to do the same.
Dio Brando repliedIt's alright.I do have my problems(a lot of them actually) with the franchise tho they are in different areas.I do agree with your comment on the story tho cuz the best story in the mainline games is still Gen 5 and nothing after it reached that ever since so I hope Gen 8 would at least rectify that
Dio Brando repliedSpeaking of Mystery Dungeon,I've been planning to try the series for a long time but I dunno which game to start with. What do you recommend?
Merilly repliedI agree. Gen V had especially considered an aspect which neither of its predecessors had:involving the gym leaders. It had always struck me as odd that all thsse trainers would not help out or try and interfere with such malicious plan.
Personally, thd first two batches of games are my favorite and the best in my opinion is Explorers of Sky. It adds a little more to Darkness/Time while still keeping the story the same and the story had me engrossed. I really cried too.
Merilly repliedAlso, Explorers of Sky belongs to the 2nd Generation basically and remedies a few of the issues the first Mystery Dungeon had in terms of gameplay and structure. But since they're not connected, you can start with those without a problem. The entries after that have lost a little of their charm in my opinion and didn't manage to captivate me as much. They're still passable and all but the feeling wasn't there as much as the first two.
Dio Brando replied@Merilly
I love how Gen 5 emphasized the governmental aspect of being a Gym leader as unlike all other gens before and after they were involved in the protection of Unova especially the final stand against Team Plasma in BW1
As for Mystery dungeon,I'm gonna start with Explorers of Sky based on your recommendation. Thanks a lot ^_^

Final Fantasy VII Remake's development cycle is so weird... Last year they said the voice acting was almost complete and that some parts were further along than KHIII, this year they put up job listings for "core members" and they brought the game in-house towards the end of 2017. What is going on?
Merilly repliedYeah and additionally, we haven't seen much of the game these past years, which would be odd if the game is really that far along in some aspects.
I mean, it is episodic so it's no surprise thst they would hire more people, but currently it seems more like FFXV. Another thing is that in an interview way back theyonce said it woukd take them over 10 years to do the remake. Maybe that wasn't too far-fetched.
Merilly repliedJust that KH3 was clear from the get go that we won't get it anytime soon. Large games which cannot resort to copy and paste anymore usually need 3-5 years of development. When it was announced 2013 with a "now in development", it should have been clear that it wasn't going to come out anytime soon, especially with the engine switch in 2014. All things considered, the updates have still been fairly frequent and it's still within the estimated time frame.
Merilly repliedFFVIIR however is left extremely in the dark in comparison and is somewhat more comparable to FFXV in terms of development. It is still odd because its nature is episodic and one would suspect thst the first episode had something to show for it at this point. Even FFXV had the occasional trailer. Then again, since expectations are always very high for remakes, they may just have decided to show more when they were absolutely certain it won't disappoint.
x13Sora13x repliedMaybe when KH3 is released, FF7R will be more in focus... You should not forget that Tetsuya Nomura is the director for both games, so it is natural that one of the two is prioritised.
PrinceNoctis repliedYes I realize that but giving short updates in interviews or something would be better than just leaving people in the complete dark. With Nomura's and Square's track record, the way tehy've been going about releasing info for FF7 Remake is worrying.
Merilly repliedI agree with Noctis here. If they don't plan on revealing anything for years, they should have saved the announcement for later. Such practice is the reason fans are complaining they are waiting for such a long time, although in KH3's case it wasn't that long at all for a large game.
Still, staying silent for such a long time is not really effective marketing. People rather get frustrated this way than hyped. It is worrying, too if they have nothing to show.
