Are you one of the many that consider Kingdom Hearts II to be the best KH game so far?

Knock one of those I's off, and then we'll be talking.

 

Though I did enjoy KHII, and it's still a very fun and enjoyable game.

No. It's my second favorite, but I'd definitely say I is better. II can't even compete.

I kind of feel like the first KH is slightly better than KHII, and I know a lot of people will jump at me for it.  I don't know, I just feel like because KH wasn't setting out to create a huge, complex universe but instead tells a simple story that it has a charm to it that KHII didn't quite achieve to me.  Solid gameplay, but not the best gameplay of the series either (I would say DDD has the best).  And I think BBS had the best story telling.  But overall I feel like the first KH is more likely to leave a lasting impression than KHII overall.

They are all equally fine to me .

Ah.. No not really despite my love for the sequel to the original, I really enjoy DDD a lot more in overall gameplay and plot.

I don't have an oppinion on KH II yet because I haven't played it yet.

Of course. Sequels usually tend to be the better of the series, and in this case, KH2 is better in every way possible, the biggest being its faster paced combat and better overall controlling. Every other game in the series has felt slow and clunky to me. DDD's about as close to KH2 in its pacing as the handhelds are gonna get.

Out of the games that I've played and completed (KHII, Days, Re:coded, 3D), yes. Maybe my opinion will change once I play BBS, I don't know.

Yes. It's not my favorite, but it is definitely the best KH there is. (Until, hopefully, KHIII)

It might not be the best, I think BbS is overall a better game but Kingdom Hearts II will always be my favourite game in the series.

No I'm not. It's actually the KH game that was the biggest disappointment for me.The gameplay is merely action, with no exploration nor interaction with the surroundings like what were were used to in KH1 and CoM (and it was brought back in the following games).

 

The story is also full of plotholes (Maleficent's return, the fact that Atlantica completely ignores what happened in KH1, the celestial locks that come out of random objects, Riku and Kairi's keyblades that come out of nowhere...), and was barely corrected in KH2fm (which made the actions of Organization XIII clearer, thankfully).

I have to give it to the original. It was just so simple and pure, the worlds were more immersive than II's, better platforming, better difficulty, it had these random little heartwarming moments here and there that I felt II lacked, some which contributed to the lore, like Kairi's grandmother telling Kairi how the light in the hearts of children prevented the world being swallowed in darkness and some which just made you go aww like Kairi giving Sora the chain in the well and a better story with a bittersweet ending that leaves you in tears yet yearning for more.

Third one after BbS and DDD.

I don't know about the comments about the other titles, but 3D and KH2 are tied for me as well.

The story in KHII is great and the gameplay is great early on, the main thing for me that let it down was how overpowered all the late game abilities felt, once you get that combo finisher with the spinning orb things it just started to feel like too much, which is why i'm kind of worried about the gameplay in KHIII being descrbed as "like the transition from KH to KHII". That said the drive forms were awesome, the bosses were fun, the story was great, still probably one of the best games out there, the gameplay just didn't have the depth that the original KH did.

I wouldn't say that KH2 is my favorite game. It  used to be my favorite kingdom hearts game before birth by sleep came out. Birth by Sleep is my favorite kingdom hearts game because of the story. The story explained some questions from other kingdom hearts games and even created new questions that we have to find answers from in kingdom hearts 3. All three story endings for bbs are pretty sad and the thing about all three endings is that they are all clip holders. Which is why we have to wait for kingdom hearts 3 to come out to finally see what going to happen with Ventus, Aqua, and Terra.

Yeah I completely agree with you about the story, KHII was the game where the story really began to become what it is now, I haven't played KHII in a long time and so I think when 2.5 comes out I will have to rethink my opinion on it, it's also one of the few I haven't played all the way through on the hardest difficulty which is always fun so that could be why I remember it as being too easy

It's my favorite, but the margin between it and the other games isn't that big for me.
