I'd say yes, if only to ease the burden on the animation team and have the game be released on time rather than being delayed for a couple more years...

No.

I don't mind them. I get that some scenes just aren't worth being fully voiced or animated outside of generic hand gestures, etc.

To be honest, yes I do. A few here or there aren't too bad, but only for the Optional quests and stuff. Otherwise, go full cutscene.

Unless you want Re coded 3.5, be my guest

I don't care. People seem to get really annoyed at the 'default' faces, but it's never bothered me. I can only imagine they'd be improved on the PS4.

I want them, they're part of every kingdom hearts game.  It's like asking should we just replace the keyblade with a nuclear gun 'cause it's flashier.

A nuclear gun that shoots lazer rainbow nyan cats.

Yes, I'd like them, however, I'd like it if the faces weren't so derpy and defaulty. I'd like for them to do the slightest bit of animation to make them look emotionally appealing.

I've never minded them: every KH game has them by the dozens. It doesn't matter one way or another to me.

It wouldn't matter to me either way, I was never really bothered by them that much. Usually they do those if they can't get any more voice actors, especially if there are minor characters involved like the other lionesses or Pain and Panic. Either they can't get enough money to pay for that many actors or there really isn't a need to. Either way though, if the text scenes are back, I'll be fine, they never bothered me anyway. If they are left out though, I won't really be upset either. I'm fine with whatever they decide in regards to those scenes.

They could do better work on the faces, but they shouldn't need to animate full blown cutscenes for relatively unworthy content, it takes a ton of work.

Yes please.

I like a balance between text-scenes and cutscenes.

It doesn't bother me so I don't mind either way

Well, I wouldn't mind if there were text cutscenes, but I love voiced cutscenes so much more!  Well, I think that text cutscenes would be alright if they were kept to a bare minimum like in Kingdom Hearts II.  Kingdom Hearts II had a perfect amount of text cutscenes and glorious voiced ones.  But in the end, whatever Nomura and the gang decide is fine. :)

After reading the replies here, I agree they should keep them. They can still just as easily make the more expressive while still maintaining simplicity.

They should, but remember that in DDD there was absolutely no text boxes (except for traverse town, and the tutorial ones) so maybe they are leaving that formula...

I guess we'll just have to wait and see at this point on how it goes, let's just hope they choose for the best in KHIII. At least with the 3DS, there's a lot less work in going that route in comparison though.

i like the text besides kingdom hearts is an rpg anyway

Sure. They're always nice in case the vocals aren't clear.

Do you mean with the old style? I think they will move how FFXIII is.

You can probably turn it off.

I think they add something to they game, I like them especially how they were utilized in the 1st game. In the 2nd and BBS everything was voiced, and I think it slowed the game considering not everything needs to be voiced. I don't want it like RECOM, but a text cutscene here and there would be clutch. I doubt we see it though

I don't mind the text scene that much. Who knows? Maybe they'll fix the default plain faces.

For minor scenes, they're fine. However, all of the major scenes should definitely be voiced.

I wouldn't mind, though I think the one they've had has worked fine. It brings more life to the conversations, even though they seem to talk forever when they have two words and you don't click on continue.
