Veemon repliedYou heard of Ana Yazamaki probably, right? She is a member on here. The thing was, she posted a status update last night stating she was not coming back. And I talked to Yuya Sakaki about it and told me she was passing away. We were scared for a while. But then the next day (today), I saw that Yuya told me that Ana had Surgery and Life Support and lived. I was so happy when I heard the news. And Yuya was too.
Pangoro "Sen" replied...So that's what that was about? I see. Well, I'm happy that she managed to live! I know what that's like, being at risk of losing somebody close to you. So I'm happy that she can live to see the light of, hopefully, several years to come.

So I have an essay due on Tuesday, and it's quickly coming to be seven or eight pages long. I swear, this is the longest paper I've ever had to type. And in all honesty, it isn't that bad.

silent silv repliedI think you're exaggerating a bit, but it is very similar to how A New Hope began, but I believe that's what Abrams wanted: a movie to show what Star Wars is and should be, and use that to bring everyone back.

Nero Kunivas repliedThere are enough differences and additions to make this its own story, Demyx. This is most definitely a return to form for Star Wars, the similarities to New Hope are for Nostalgia and playing it safe after the prequels.
silent silv repliedI'm not denying that it's exactly as the New Hope went, I mentioned that. A lot of this is to say "Hey, remember all this? Remember when Star Wars wasn't about midichlorians and Jar-Jar?" it's supposed to evoke what made Star Wars special, and sure it's very similar, but it's what we needed after three prequels that just weren't good enough.

silent silv repliedI don't think you get what I mean--lots of people have seen the original trilogy, but they still want more. After the prequel trilogy, people didn't think the series could go back to its roots. That's what The Force Awakens was for, to remind people what Star Wars is supposed to be, to draw people in to a new trilogy. Unlike the Phantom Menace, this movie actually builds peoples expectations for a new trilogy, one that might be leagues ahead of the prequel.

silent silv repliedYes, you're entitled to your own opinion, but stating the movie as "over rated" and less as "I feel it is over rated" gives people a different context.

Silvia, I understand other people's opinions with Star Wars going back to what it was, but I think that more than that, this films takes stuff from both the prequel and the original trilogy (I really liked the prequels, and I have no proof, but it must've been a bit succesful if there's tons of games and series about it everywhere). On topic, yeah, it may be a bit overrat...

Jim replied? Dawn, I think you're taking the Star Wars hype a little too hard. You gotta understand that this series was expected to be completely dead after .. '04 I think it was. People are really hyped for this movie. Advertisements aren't forcing you to watch star wars, nor are they expecting you to dislike everything but star wars. I'm not entirely sure where you get that thought process, but regardless, I'm sorry it bothers you so much.

Dracozombie repliedI'm not a fan of Star Wars but I don't mind if it's everywhere. I may not be interested in it myself, and maybe it gets a little tiresome to see it everywhere, but a part of me is glad that so many people are enjoying something they like. Besides, overexposure doesn't last forever. I also don't have any right to determine what DESERVES its popularity or not, so calling something "overrated" is meaningless to me.

I love Pokemon and even then its not that big of a deal. I wasn't expecting everyone to go insane for the anniversary either. If you want to celebrate it then do it but don't expect other people to celebrate something they don't care about.

They're just saying that the only reason Star Wars is so hype right now is that the movie just came out and a ton of people (myself included) love it. It's like a rebirth of our childhood. I'm not trying to trash you for not liking it, but it's important to understand why it's everywhere.
