Everyone's arguing about all these popular characters being in Smash, I'm just on Team Seven over here.
Shulk replied@Exilra Good question... I was thinking of something involving their Talent Arts, although that probably wouldn't work well if they choice the non-spoiler form.
Their already spoiled it in Smash anyway, which is why I figured they have a chance. I'm just using the codename until there's an official confirmation.

@JBone It's a codename for a Xenoblade character that's a spoiler, although given Smash's tendency to not care about spoiling things, a lot of us Xenoblade fans figured that they've got as good a chance as any other Xenoblade character. We just still use Seven in case they don't get in, so we don't spoil it that way.

Im not saying it will happen I'm just saying its a possibility and you saying it's impossible just kills the vibe why try to stop someone who dares to dream bigger
Shulk repliedBecause it'll never happen, and it just leads to disappointment and a wasted vote. Third party characters can't instantly be tossed in the game, there are a lot of hoops to jump through to get the rights. Not to mention Sora requires legal permission from not one, but TWO large companies.
Besides, there are plenty of first party characters who deserve a spot. They deserve the spotlight over a character with a rocky history in terms of Nintendo.

Shulk repliedFirst off, a less rude tone would be appreciated. Secondly, they technically could go through the meetings and processes, but it won't happen. As I said, there are requirements regarding third party characters, and Sora doesn't pass them all. Not to mention, as I've said multiple times, Iwata said there were limitations for these characters. He obviously meant no third party.

1. Have a game on a Nintendo system (The only one he passes)
2. Be important in Nintendo history (Nope, only 4 games, and they weren't anywhere near big system seller status)
3. Be a character from a company that helped Nintendo develop Smash (Again, no luck)
Only way to bypass these is to be a developer who's close friends with Sakurai, but that was a one time thing.

Anyway, as I said, Snake ONLY got in because Kojima and Sakurai were very close friends, and Snake was removed from Smash 4, probably because Sakurai realized he didn't fit. My argument isn't made invalid by anything, it simply won't happen.

Mario Kart 7's been really fun so far. It's been a bit awkward adjusting to using the 3DS controls (I've never had a portable Mario Kart game before now, only played them through Download Play), but I'm doing pretty well.
