Do you like the new Art style in KH3?

Posted

I don't. I think of it, like how Wind Waker's art style was. I liked WW's art style, but the thing is, in Zelda, the games are connected, but aren't like direct sequel's with the same Link in each game(the only exceptions i know of, are OOT and MM, which are direct sequel's) which is why i thinik its ok to have different art styles in the different  games.

KH however is different. Unlike Zelda(and FF) the games are direct sequels, with the same characters, which is why i think that Nomura shouldn't have change the Art Style for KH3. I know its Next Gen technology, but im sure alot of us prefer the art style from the rest of the games in the series, compared to KH3's art style.

I honestly do not like the new art style in KH3 as shown in the E3 Trailer, and im hoping that hopefully Nomura makes the art style more like the previous games, and the only reason it looked the way that it did in the E3 trailer was because it was in Super Beta.

The Kingdom Hearts III's art style is the new best thing.

This reminds me of how Jak & Daxter's art style changed a lot (except not as exteme as Jak & Daxter).

I don't think it's fair to judge the art style of the entire game off a very beta trailer and a single picture.

WHAT THIS GIRL SAID

Holy crap does this fandom jump to conclusions like a mother.

You're basing your opinion off of an early cinematic version of a Beta version of what they think they are going to do with the gameplay that they just started on that they haven't shown anywhere else and that they won't really give any more details on until about half a year after that said video.

The art style is also to early to criticize. I've seen Sonic fans who are already deciding whether the new Sonic cartoon set to come out next year is going to be good or not based on the shadows of what could be how the characters will look like on the show. They haven't even seen anything yet and yet they are already judging it as if it already came out. Don't treat this graphical style as if it was already released, we don't know what it's full capabilities are going to be. In Birth by Sleep's early years, the models were originally as fleshed out as KH2's, but as they developed the game more, they had to slightly simplify the models (squares and hexagons became triangles and such, not that big of a change, but still noticeable if you pay attention to that sort of stuff). There's no telling how this style is going to work or fit in to some ACTUAL gameplay, but from what I've seen, it looks like it fits in rather well in cutscenes and what is supposed to represent gameplay. The current art style from the past games are fine and beautiful, but this is a Next-Gen system, I'm curious to see how it will look. Plus, it's apparently supposed to look different in every other world or so, so who knows how they will look in each world. I'm personally curious as to how this will both look and work and look forward to any further announcements that enlighten us on that.

I'm not totally sure what you mean by the "art style." Do you mean the engine its running on or just some wishy washy notions (for lack of better words) of the feel of it compared to the other games? I doubt the engine is going to change in any significant way. However I thinks its reasonable to assume that as a beta it will change some just like most others. I think the only reason it would be hard to accept the shinier graphics is that we are so used to the ps2 or lower level graphics.

Ok first off, i didnt mention that it would affect the gameplay, i just was talking about the art style and the graphics.

Ok, i admit, it is to early to criticize. But from what we've seen in the trailer, im not liking it.

I love it. I hope to see more like it. Honestly, the more realistic style we've seen in the CGI cutscenes of the past have always felt off to me. Kingdom Hearts should look like the cartoons it references, and I'm happy with where they're headed.

Am I missing something or are you complaining about the 20 second teaser?

I'm gonna wait until I get to see Kairi before posting my opinion of it xD

looks hell a lot better I hope this is the direction they take

Art Style!? Game Engine, Game Engine

AND WHAT DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND IT'S IN ALPHA not even Beta....

Meh... don't hate it don't like it. I prefer kh2s style but the new kind is ok.

Based on the trailer, I thought it looked nice. I'll need some more examples after a final decision is made on the art style to make a full opinion, though.

I wasn't just talking about the gameplay, I was also talking about the art style and graphics. It's just that the gameplay took up the most time out of that video. Besides, I'm pretty sure it will feel more fleshed out later on.

It's still in Alpha, or Beta, or whatever. I think it is way too early to judge it. But yeah, I like this new style.

When the trailer was first shown I thought Sora looked amazing. But I also thought the areas didn't look as great as they did in the other games, but it was just a beta trailer. I like it and I'm happy they didn't use the same graphics they did for all the other games or else it wouldn't look like a PS4/Xbox One game. I think it all depends on just how well they do this.

It'll be amazing when we're actually experiencing it ourselves when playing it. Trust me.

And the graphics are phenomenal.

The only thing I HATE about it is the water on Destiny Islands. They should have made it look real. >:/

Yeah, I'm not too keen on the new art style myself.  I think I prefer the older art, really, and I do think you have a point.  It would make sense for all of the Kingdom Hearts games to feature the same art style.  Or, at least those within this saga.

I agree that what we saw was a little underwhelming but like the others said its still early.

I would like it they could get the kind of realism like in FF13 and FF15 it would help me at least feel more immersed in the worlds or at least put more background characters and objects in the environments so it won't feel so barren.

it's not really different nothing to really dislike i mean it's the same art style
