Utada Hikaru's music label confirms involvement on Kingdom Hearts III intro song

So I was linked to this tweet by a friend. Looks like Utada is doing the KHIII theme!!

Good old KH3 news! I don't wanna be too hopeful but I look forward to hearing it in the next trailer or sometime in 2017.

If we can just get an opening song that isn't some form of Simple and Clean, I'll be happy. It's a decent song, but done to death in these games.

I kind of want the song to start on kind of like a dark tone and seem sad but then it turns up and it's about overcoeming difficulties and how they rise above to beat the bad guy

This just recovered some of my hope in SE about where they are going with the KH series. The recent installments all seemed as if they didnt take them serious. That they are recording a brand new song for KH3 shows how much they care to make this game amazing, unlike 0.2 for example.

Honestly, yeah, I'd love a remix of Sanctuary similar to the Ray of Hope MIX. Sanctuary is such a good song, it fits the tone of KH so much better than Simple and Clean and has way better English lyrics imo. The fact that Sanctuary has only been in two games always frustrated me.

The remix shows that they were starting to care again because I would have beat money that it was going to be the normal version.

Oh, wow, I don't remember that at all. If I did though I would agree with you, totally doesn't count. I thought it was obvious we were all talking about openings.

AT LAST!! Now this truly IS the next big numbered title of the series. I can't think of any more fitting way to finish of the first saga than with a great new opening single! Can't wait until we get to hear it! I hope it gets a closing/credits version as well like with Simple And Clean and Sanctuary.

Could this mean that Kingdom Hearts III could be in a similar spot? Gahhh, I hope so!

But hey, just the fact that we know Utada will be working on a song for KHIII at all is enough for me, so I'll be eagerly awaiting to hear what's next!

I expect it to be taken back a day later and tell everyone that it's still undecided.

She's started work on it, i.e composing it. It doesn't mean KH3 is close to completion at all
