    Sad to hear that. The treasure hunter is a pain, but make sure from chapters 1 through 10, and 13, you check every nook and cranny for treasure spheres, esp. for those elemental rings. I used gamefaqs to help me throughout the game.

    It is :/ ya, I'm at the part where Sazh and Vanille come across the Weather-changing sphere. I stopped there bc Idk if that part is a grindzone. Is it? Just wanna know so I can move on. And ya, I have been searching and opening every single chest I come across. It's not hard, it's just annoying if you miss one step, you screw up the whole thing. That bugs me so much. Happened to me once before, it was hell

    Yeah, I recommend using Split Infinity's Gamefaqs walkthrough. Would Help loads for treasure hunting. Make sure you printed a checklist as well.

    As for grindspots, If you wanna grind vanille and sazh early, you should would do it in Chapter 8. Play the game normally till you get to chapter 11.

    Actually I really started grinding in Chapter 11.

    Oh, so I don't have to grind enemies at all until ch11? Ok, cause all I've been doing on my run is collecting spheres and fighting my way by initiating with every enemy I see. That's it really. Got worried when I got to chapter 2, thinking I should've grinded enemies. Ok, that's a relief. So, to sum it up, all I have to do is just normally play through the story while collecting all spheres, and then when I reach ch11, I should start grinding enemies? Or can I just grind e...

    Don't worry about grinding. Worry about the treasure spheres.

    Chapter 11 is where I started grinding. I would go to the cliffs near the caves and beat the heck out of the behemoth and the other beast. Easy Preemptive and 6600CP each battle. Do that for an hour, and you would have half or 3 quarters of the crystarium full for Primary roles.

    Oh, when you get to ch. 10, for the love of all good things in the world, DO NOT UPGRADE SECONDARY ROLES. Worry about PRIMARY ROLES.

    Up to chapter 11. worry about treasure spheres.

    then play the game naturally in Ch. 11 and 12. But when you get to CH. 13, get every single sphere you can find, cause after you beat the final boss, you can't grab those spheres in Ch. 13.

    Wait till the end of chapter 11, where you fight the boss in Oerba. You will go back to Bahkti (Forgot spelling), and give him parts to start working again, and he will give stuff worth 500,000 Gil. RIGHT THERE, is a great time to start upgrading.
