That moment when you get so OP in Pokemon early on, that your Pokemon stop obeying you... <.<
WakingDawn96 repliedWhy is it that though that sometimes it just lets me battle like normal without any problems? I mean I sometimes have a Pokemon with a level above the limit before getting the gym badge and it just lets me use that Pokemon like normal. What makes me so special?

Curse you children's cartoons for raising my show standards. Now anime just don't do it for me anymore...Wait...
WakingDawn96 repliedIf you need a good anime to watch that will meet your show standards, try the Sun and Moon anime when it airs later this year! It totally looks like a kids cartoon.
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedIt's not the way it looks, it's the content that makes children's cartoon seem adult.
They have incredible stories, memorable characters, comedy, and development that just doesn't show up in anime so often. In sense, children's cartoon tell stories better than anime do.
WakingDawn96 repliedBut, this new anime not only looks like a kids cartoon, but it seems childish and seems to act like it has a story, just don't know what that truly is yet. Basically if you liked the B&W anime, you are probably going to like Sun and Moon, if you liked the Kalos anime, then you are out of luck!
WakingDawn96 repliedAlso, I don't remember there being that many truly incredible stories or development in Spongebob or Fairly Oddparents, except in the movies or the specials. They do have the memorable characters and comedy, though.
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedI think you misunderstood me.

I don't like childist stories and animation. I like children's cartoon who seem to be aimed for children but have mature content in them and a subtle way of passing adult messages. Shows like Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Avatar, and Over the Garden Wall seem to be aimed for children but they have such memorable characters, serious messages, humor, development, and stories that just can't be appreciated by young children. And unlike anime, t...
AngelTheWeirdStranger replied*And unlike anime, these shows do a better job of creating a more successful show in my opinion.
WakingDawn96 repliedWell, then you should be clearer on your meaning, cause children cartoons do count Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, and other things like that as a children cartoon. And anime isn't that bad, by the sound of it, you didn't watch the Kalos anime of Pokemon, because that anime was actually good as it had it epic moments, developments, good messages, and memorable characters. It's basically one of the best series of Pokemon to date.
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedYeah, I should be more clear. Sorry.

And I didn't say that anime are terrible by comparisson, just not as good as these well done cartoons I described. I still love anime and they also have their epic moments which admire.
And I did see a fair amount of X and Y which was really great. I want to see the whole thing when I get some time. I know it's the best Pokemon season we've had so far and I'm a bit sad that they're going to delete all of Ash's developme...
WakingDawn96 repliedTo make matters worst it sounds like Serena is going to leave the group soon, and Ash-Greninja seems to be ending as well. It's so sad because after what happened in Unova and then going to an epic region, it just seems like its terrible to go back to the B&W style of anime in Alola. I literally didn't cry at the end of B&W as I was happy it was ending, but I did shed tears during the ending of Sinnoh, so I will most likely shed tears on these final episodes on one of the grea...
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedThe names of 2 future episodes have been confirmed which pretty much assure us that Serena and Greninja will be going their seperate ways which is sad because Serena is one of the best companions Ash has had. She comes second after Misty (Misty will always be my favorite
) and her development throughout the series was great and just theorizing about what will happen in the upcoming episode breaks my heart.
I didn't care for B&W because it was just terrible. I was glad to see...
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedI was glad to see Cilan and Iris go. Dawn was heartbreaking as well since she's my 3rd favorite Poke-girl
. But yeah, it will be super weird to see Ash go back to stupid and lame trainer right when I was starting to like him again. WakingDawn96 repliedActually the correct answers were, the movies weren't as terrible as the show, and the music was great for the series!
WakingDawn96 repliedI actually didn't really like Iris, she got annoying after the first episode for me.
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedI don't remember the music and I didn't find the movies all that good.

I barely remember the Reshiram and Zekrom ones. Kyurem Vs Keldeo was meh. And Genesect was kind of okay.
I hated how Iris kept saying that Ash is a kid. It just added to the shows flows. But the way she battled with her Excadrill at the first seasons was great. But by Best Wishes I had grown tired of it.
Dio Brando repliedAnime does have great stories for adults. You're just overgeneralizing something like Pokemon as the ultimate representation of anime
Dio Brando repliedEver heard of Cowboy Bebop,Neon Genesis Evangelion,MONSTER,Ghost in the Shell,Hunter x Hunter 2011,Full Metal Alchemist.... etc
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedAgain. I never said there aren't good anime out there. I love a lot of them but, in my opinion, cartoons like Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Avatar, Rick and Morty, etc. take the cake.
WakingDawn96 repliedSmash, I only truly watch anime like Pokemon, I am trying to watch FMA and Fairy Tail though.
And, I liked the movies more than the anime for some reason, I guess I just grew into liking them for some reason. And I really enjoyed the theme songs and the ending songs of the movies. You should check them out, Angel, they are fun to listen to if you like Pokemon music, and you can't get past all the bad times of B&W.
Dio Brando repliedSteven Universe is kind of inspired by anime in it's structure and story telling y'know
Heck Avatar in particular is so inspired by anime to the point they hired actual japanese animators for the show
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedI mean, before I started watching these cartoons, FMA was my most favorite anime but then Gravity Falls came in and basically dethroned everything. ;P
Dio Brando repliedThe way cartoons and animes are made is not the same when it comes to story and animation except the few exceptions like Avatar
They're separate and I think they should be judged as separate entities
Dio Brando repliedFor example,Just because I love something like Full Metal Alchemist doesn't mean I can no longer love favorites of mine like Batman the Animated series or Avatar the Last Airbender...........and vice versa
Dio Brando repliedJust because I prefer one style over the other doesn't devalue the other
Well.....at least you had a reason more than saying "I hate anime cuz it's not made by Americans"
It's just I wish you worded it better
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedWakingDawn: I always listen to the ending songs in the pokemon movies because I know most of them are great.

Smash: I know they have anime references, but as much as I love anime in terms of story, characters, and development, I feel like the recent cartoons do a better job of combining all of them in an amazing whole. I know there are many different anime and cartoons but I feel like the latter has less flaws than anime do. Again, not saying that anime can't do the same but...
Dio Brando repliedIt's subjective really cuz in my case I feel the opposite but it doesn't mean I can no longer enjoy the other type
It probably has to do with growing up more with one over the other
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedI know it's subjective, why do you think I keep writing "in my opinion" over and over?

I'm sure I will come across great anime and cartoons in the future, but for now cartoons seem to get the most things right. At least for me. ;P
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedI really wish I could get my hands on the novels but I don't know if they will be available in my country. X(
Which is sad because I'm a huge fan of Gravity Falls and I really want it.
DaxtotheMax repliedI feel like some anime have compelling stories such as Sword Art Online or even Dragon Ball Z (without fillers)
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedYeah money is also the problem, but I want to one day read it myself. I know about the channel and used it to find out about Dipper's real name but I kind of want to experience it for myself.

DaxtotheMax: I don't know about Dragon Ball Z but I feel like Sword Art Online is a terrible anime. I would rant about why I think so but this is the status. My rant won't fit.
Dio Brando repliedJust a little clarification, the reason for my misunderstanding is because of the statement "For raising mt standards"
I thought you said only people with low Standards will enjoy anime
AngelTheWeirdStranger repliedOh no, I didn't mean it like that. You're right about me phrasing it wrong. It's just that after seeing the refresing way cartoons tell their stories so differently than anime that I find it hard to switch back to it now that I'm running out of good cartoons. So in a sense I enjoyed these cartoons a little too much and I feel like anime just can't capture the same charm.
DaxtotheMax repliedI was going to read the SAO manga, but I don't even know where to start
. There are so many different adaptations that I found -

For now on out, I'm no longer going to be control on what people say to me. I'm going to be myself to do things that I want to do, NOT doing what other people want me to do. I feel like I puppet like that.

You know, I think it is good that there aren't going to be gyms in Sun and a Moon because in a way it gives more options on giving more to do on the single player side of things, since I don't really do competitive battles, and so I usually like to just play the games without having to think too hard about IVs.
